OKEN Transit Research Lab applies urban analytics, GIS, GTFS analysis, transit modeling and visualization to identify practical opportunities for improving public transportation systems, beginning with Massachusetts Regional Transit Authorities.

To apply transportation planning, urban analytics, GIS, transit modeling and visualization to develop practical approaches for improving the frequency, reliability, accessibility and sustainability of public transportation systems.
What This Platform Is
This is a public transportation research, analysis, visualization and evidence platform documenting an ongoing applied research program. It is not a commercial product site and not an official publication of MassDOT or any transit agency. Findings are computed from GTFS schedule data and are clearly labeled as scheduled-service analysis.

The initial Worcester (WRTA) study is the flagship case; PVTA and LRTA provide comparative cases; additional Massachusetts RTAs will progressively test whether the methodology is transferable.
